Whether or not you hire us, these are the steps that keep a new LLC's books simple.

  1. Get an EIN. It's free from the IRS and most banks ask for it before opening a business account.
  2. Open a business bank account and card. Keep every business dollar there and nothing personal. Mixed accounts are the most common reason books fall behind.
  3. Pick one place for the books. Accounting software beats a spreadsheet once you have regular sales or bills.
  4. Save receipts from day one. Snap a photo when you pay; it's far easier than reconstructing a year later.
  5. Close each month. Categorize and reconcile monthly, so you always know what you earned and what you owe.
  6. Ask your CPA about estimated taxes. Many owners pay taxes quarterly; knowing early avoids a surprise bill.

Monthly plans are billed monthly and can be cancelled anytime. Continuing after the included month is your choice.

What does the New LLC Starter include?

Your bookkeeping system and chart of accounts set up, bank and card accounts connected, a simple receipt workflow, a 1-page website for the business, and the first month of Starter bookkeeping. It is a one-time $497.

Do I need a business bank account first?

It helps, but you can start without one. The order form asks whether it is open yet, and we tell you what to have ready before setup.

What happens after the included month?

You choose. Continue on Bookkeeping: Starter ($199 a month) or Standard ($349 a month), which can be cancelled anytime, or keep the books yourself on the system we set up.

Do you replace my CPA?

No. We keep the books every month; your CPA handles tax filing. At year end your CPA gets reconciled, tax-ready reports instead of a shoebox.
